Benzamidine Resins

Benzamidine Sepharose 4FF is an affinity chromatography medium prepared by coupling benzamidine to 4% highly cross-linked agarose. It comes in two variants based on the degree of ligand substitution: High Substitution (High Sub, HS) and Low Substitution (Low Sub, LS).
Benzamidine is a broad-spectrum inhibitor of serine proteases, such as trypsin, thrombin, urokinase, and kallikrein. Due to its inhibitory properties, benzamidine-based materials are commonly used in the purification and separation of serine proteases, including trypsin, urokinase, thrombin, and kallikrein, or for removing these substances from biological samples.
